X Factor judge Tulisa has denied rumours that she has been dropped from the judging panel of the show.

Speaking to the Sunday People the N-Dubz singer – who has been a judge for the past two series – hit back at reports suggesting that she and Simon Cowell were not on speaking terms, and that she was set to be replaced by Mel B.

“I haven’t been axed from the X Factor,” she said. “I love the show, I’d always want to do it. Last year was much harder than my first series but I did enjoy it.”

And she added: “Simon and I are cool with each other, it doesn’t all go as deep as people think.”

“I contacted Simon and had dinner with show producer Richard Holloway and his wife a couple of weeks ago. We’re all friends and I’ve not been told I’m not going back.”

Tulisa’s first year on the show was a triumphant one which saw her mentoring Little Mix – who went on to become the first group to win the series.

However she didn’t have quite such an easy time in 2012, after losing all of her girl singers before the final.

They included Ella Henderson, whose elimination caused controversy after she found herself in a sing-off with eventual winner James Arthur, and was subsequently knocked out by a deadlock vote.
