Will Young is apparently set to make peace with Simon Cowell and perform on The X Factor.
The singer, whose debut album went straight to number one in 2002, will perform in front of Simon for the first time since winning Pop Idol six years ago, The Sun reports.
Will and Simon have not seen eye to eye since the talent show judge branded Will ‘distinctly average’ on the first Pop Idol contest in 2002.
The 29-year-old also has an ongoing feud with Louis Walsh, of whom he once said: “I just don’t think he’s a very clever person.”
An insider said: “Will doesn’t like Simon and Louis. However, it was this kind of show that gave him his career, he’s not about to turn his back on it.”
But Will has accepted an invitation to perform on the ITV talent show to promote his fourth album, Let It Go.
The singer has previously revealed he is ready to put his clash with Simon behind him, saying: “We exchanged a few cross words at the time but I have nothing but respect for what he has done bringing the show on.”
