The 24 acts who have made it through to the judges’ houses stage of The X Factor 2012 were revealed on Sunday night’s boot camp show after the remaining hopefuls had one last chance to impress the panel.
And favourites Jahmene Douglas, Ella Henderson, Christopher Maloney and Carolynne Poole were among the lucky ones who made it to the next stage following the gruelling and emotional ordeal of boot camp.
However other strongly fancied hopefuls including Joseph Whelan, Times Red and last year’s semi-finalists Melanie McCabe and Jade Richards – were eliminated at the final hurdle.
The acts will now have the task of impressing their mentor at the judges’ houses in a bid to win a place in the live shows.
This year, however, it will be even more difficult since only 12 acts will be progressing – meaning the judges can only choose three acts to take to the finals with them.
The show also saw Simon Cowell returning to tell the judges which categories they would be mentoring.
And as has previously been reported Gary Barlow will look after the over 28s, Louis Walsh has been given the groups, Nicole Scherzinger will mentor the boys and Tulisa has the girls.
The remaining 24 acts who were put through are as follows:
OVER 28s (Gary Barlow): Kye Sones, Melanie Masson, Nicola-Marie, Carolynne Poole, Brad Shackleton, Christopher Maloney
GROUPS: (Louis Walsh): Rough Copy, GMD3, Mitsotu, Duke, Poisonous Twin, MK1
BOYS: (Nicole Scherzinger): James Arthur, Jahmene Douglas, Nathan Fagan-Gayle, Adam Burridge, Rylan Clark, Jake Quickenden
GIRLS: (Tulisa Contostavlos): Ella Henderson, Amy Mottram, Jade Collins, Lucy Spraggan, Leanne Robinson, Jade Ellis
