Baka: A Cry from the Rainforest
BBC2, 9:00pm - Except Scotland.

Filmmaker Phil Agland returns to the tropical forests of Southern Cameroon 25 years after spending two years with the Baka tribe.
It makes for depressing viewing. The forests that once teemed with wildlife are empty, the animals overhunted, and instead of hunting and tending traps, many of the Baka spend their days getting drunk on a lethal brew which they earn by working for the wealthy Bantu. Phil's original film is shown to the Baka and brings magic back into the forest, but then tragedy unfolds. Can the tribe use the spirit of their ancestors to avoid self-destruction?
