When this episode first aired in 2008, it was thought it would be the last one, particularly because it was set around VE Day but, happily for us fans, three more episodes followed.
Foyle (Michael Kitchen) is celebrating the return of his son, Andrew (Julian Ovenden), and being enlisted as a police representative on the Victory Day Celebrations Committee. But as soon as the bunting's up, a fellow committee member is murdered. In typical fashion, Foyle's policing digs up more treachery and the Allies' best-kept secrets look set to be revealed...
