The Diamond Queen
BBC1, 9:00pm

How the Queen
and her family have updated their image.
The always watchable Andrew Marr continues his series about Queen Elizabeth II's 60-year
reign with this programme which looks at the Royal Family's attempts to modernise itself. Princes William and Harry have arguably had a huge effect on updating the image of today's monarchy, and here they reveal how the Queen contributed to William's wedding with advice on the guest list and which uniforms to wear. There's also a look at last year's visit to the Republic of Ireland, the first by a reigning British monarch in 100 years, and the aftermath of 1979's IRA bomb which killed Lord Mountbatten.
