The hit police drama returns with a gruesome new case...

The second series of the sensational thriller hits the ground running when dogged cop Catherine Cawood (the sublime Sarah Lancashire) finds a decomposed body. This sets off a new chain of misery for her and gives her now-incarcerated arch-enemy Tommy Lee Royce (James Norton) more chance to brood. New but familiar faces joining this series include Katherine Kelly (Mr Selfridge) and Downton's Kevin Doyle as Shackleton and Wadsworth, two detectives investigating the body's discovery. Scott & Bailey's Amelia Bullmore is fab, too – she plays intense Vicky, who keeps Wadsworth on his toes as he tries to hide a huge secret from his wife (Julie Hesmondhalgh).
