How much have the youngsters changed in seven years?
This 21st-century version of the original 1960s Up catches up with the youngsters whose lives have been charted from the age of seven. First filmed in 2000, they’re now 21 and since the catch-up in 2007 families have been made and broken – as have these young people’s dreams and aspirations. Ryan, who has cerebral palsy, is relishing his independence and is aiming for the 2016 Paralympics in wheelchair rugby, while Asif looks back on his 14-year-old self as a ‘puppet’ and Orala reveals how religion has come to form a big part of her life as she’s grown up. A moving project, which never fails to fascinate. Continues tomorrow night.
