New 24 series secrets revealed

Jack Bauer is not the only 24 character expected to return for the show's new series, Day 7.

Having been trapped in front of a PC for days finishing the show's final episode, executive producer and writer Howard Gordon let slip a little of what fans can expect.

He joked: "I'm dizzy right now. I'm writing the last episode so my head's been at a computer.

"Tony is back. Tony Almeda is back from the dead, risen from the dead."

Kiefer Sutherland's character Jack will also be struggling to work out where his place is in the world.

"It's a Jack who is unflinching, unapologetic. And in a post Abu Graib, post Guantanamo world we had a challenge."

"I think this year is about the journey of how Jack Bauer perceives himself," he added.

One major change will be where all the action takes place. Whereas seasons one to six were set in LA, now Jack's in a new city.

"It takes place in Washington, the cast is terrific and I think it's a lot of fun," he said.

A two-hour special of the show set in Africa airs on Monday November 24 at 10pm on Sky1 and Sky1 HDqq.
