6-7pm/7-8pm

Jack follows Davros's trail and finds the bodies of cop Jim and his wife, but he's arrested by two cops called to the scene who believe he's a cop killer. One proceeds to take revenge on him, but Jack fights back and convinces the other cop to verify his story at the station. Convinced, the cop drives Jack to the UN.

At the CTU, analysis of Meredith Reed's computer reveals plans for a huge bomb inside the UN and Hastings orders its evacuation. But as President Hassan gets into his car, Farhad warns Davros of his brother's position in the cavalcade. A bomb is waiting beneath a manhole cover along the route.

Jack calls Cole and tells him to head Hassan's car off - he believes it's going to get hit. Cole speeds ahead and cuts off Hassan's vehicle as Davros triggers the bomb and both cars are flipped into the air!

7pm-8pm

With Hassan safe, Cole escapes from his car and follows Davros into a building, while letting CTU know his whereabouts. Davros lies in wait, however, and is about to kill Cole when Jack shoots the Russian in the back.

Farhad, fearing all is lost, stabs his police guard and heads off to Russian mob boss Bazhaev. He's buying nuclear material off the mob and needs his situation resolved fast.

Back at CTU, Davros is identified as part of the Russian Red Square syndicate. Suddenly, the lab discovers that Davros had been in contact with weapons-grade uranium! President Hassan realises that his brother must be buying the material. And it must be somewhere in the US!

Meanwhile, Hastings is told of an FBI agent who had worked undercover with the Russian mob and he wants her back in there. It's Renee Walker, who is happy to comply, but Jack fears she's not strong enough emotionally. He insists on accompanying her and the two set off to see her contact, Ziya. She tells him she has a deal for arms dealer Vladimir Laitanan but Ziya won't help - he's on parole and has an electronic bracelet. Under the pretence of removing it, Renee cuts off Ziya's thumb and, in spite of Jack's protests, heads for the door...
