An Austrian woman accused of bombarding CSI: Miami star David Caruso with death threats has sparked an international search after she failed to attend court.
According to reports in the Associated Press, the woman has sent the American actor more than 100 letters and threatened to kill him when he failed to give her an autograph.
David, who plays Miami police lieutenant Horatio Caine in the crime drama series, received a letter bearing a Miami postmark which threatened to kill him and his girlfriend Liza Marquez.
It read, in part: "I will locate you and your ugly Latina tramp and kill you."
The woman - identified only as being in her early 40s – was charged with stalking and threatening to kill David last year, but failed to show for two trial dates. Police officials say that she could be hiding in Mexico.
A court-appointed psychiatrist testified that the suspect has a 'profound personality disorder'. If convicted, she faces up to three years in prison.
