Mayday

In the last episode of the series, Horatio and Tripp are flying prison escapee Jack Toller back to Miami when they realize the plane's crew are working for him. A gunfight ensues and the plane is forced to land but Toller escapes. The crew had been heading for a small airstrip in the Everglades but Marcel, the owner, and his assistant, Renee, deny any knowledge of the flight.

The team question Randy North, Toller's former cellmate who's now out and trying to bring up his two kids alone, but he knows nothing. Then a car stolen by Toller turns up at a scrap yard and when 'H' and Natalia investigate, they find Randy with the vehicle. He claims the killer threatened his kids and that he had to drive him to a hotel, a story the CSIs believe, but Randy is destined to have his kids taken away by social services...

The team turns up at the hotel but Toller is gone and he's killed Marcel. Renee is found hiding and explains she's a secret service agent chasing some stolen $100 bill printing plates. Toller has them and is looking for a buyer. Horatio heads back to the airfield where he discovers the killer was communicating with fraudulent banker Bernard Ashcroft - he's the buyer!

Toller carjacks another vehicle and gets 16-year-old driver, Kaylee, to take the case of plates into Ashcroft's home. While she's there, the police arrive and Toller makes his escape. Renee opens the case but the killer has kept one set of the plates.

Randy calls Natalia saying he's supposed to meet Toller at the pier. She and Horatio arrive but Horatio is suddenly shot and falls to the ground bleeding heavily. It's Randy! Bitter over losing his kids, he bundles Natalia into the trunk of his car and pushes it off the pier into the water! Frantic, Natalia calls for help as the car sinks beneath the waves...
