Stoned Cold

Renowned high school ‘mean girl’ Blair Hawkins is discovered tied to the school football field’s goal post – she’s been stoned to death. Horatio’s team learn that she’d been abducted the night before from a party where many of her fellow student guests would have wanted to see her dead. She was feared by many of her peers.
Dr Loman finds a headphone earbud from a personal stereo lodged in her ear canal, and the way she was tied to the goal post suggests that at least two people had been involved in her murder.
Two students in particular had been deeply affected by her abuse. Nate Cordero, tricked by Blair into running out of the school showers naked into a hallway full of students, had been so humiliated he’d tried to hang himself. And Megan Wells, a shy new girl desperate for Blair’s approval, had been tricked into having sex with three football players before being ejected from the party by her so-called friend. And this wasn’t the first time Blair had humiliated her.
Then it’s discovered that the rope used to bind Blair was the same one Nate had used to try to hang himself. And Megan’s story starts to unravel, too. Her family car contains a broken CD player, which is missing an earbud from its headphones and, when confronted, Megan suddenly confesses to the murder.
The CSIs don’t believe her, however, and their suspicions are reinforced when DNA results on the earbuds points to a man. The CD player had belonged to Megan’s father! Nate’s mother and Megan’s parents had kidnapped Blair with the intention of frightening her and teaching her a lesson, but when the bully had continued to insult their children, the parents had snapped and stoned her to death...
