Burn it, shred it, I don't care

Patty puts Ellen and FBI agents Harrison and Werner on the back foot when she assigns the lead role in the infant mortality case to Tom. Forced to improvise, Ellen agrees to use Tom in order to get at Patty. So, the FBI get their plant to request $60,000 up front before proceeding with the class action. Tom hesitates knowing it could ruin his reputation and bring down Hewes & Associates, but then reluctantly decides to hand over the cash. Patty, however, is one step ahead again and, unbeknownst to Tom, gets him out of trouble.

A grieving Daniel finds himself firmly in the frame for his wife's murder. Certain there's more to the case than a random killing, Patty agrees to be Daniel's attorney and demands he tell her everything about his corrupt firm, the doctored toxicity report and his marriage, but her friend proves to be less than forthcoming with the truth…

Meantime, Patty's formidable adversary, Ultima National Resources' in-house counsel Claire Maddox (Marcia Gay Harden), fires her first shot when she obtains a court order demanding that Patty hands over the leaked UNR documents. And it turns out Patty isn't the only one with whom Daniel has a past when he and Claire have a secret assignation.

Fast-forward six months and Ellen and Wes have become very cosy, but has she discovered his hidden Frobisher cuttings and weapons arsenal?
