Damages is back – with a bang!
Sunday, 15 February 2009 22:20 BBC1

Fresh from her stunning legal victory against billionaire Arthur Frobisher, Patty Hewes is taking a back seat at Hewes & Associates and focusing instead on her new charitable foundation, set up to fight hunger in New York City.
Tom Shayes, named as Patty's new business partner towards the end of the last series, is trying to tempt her back into litigation, as is young attorney Ellen Parsons, albeit for very different reasons. Ellen is now convinced that Patty tried to have her killed and is working with the FBI as she strives to destroy her manipulative boss.
Patty is distracted, however, when she gets an unwelcome call from brilliant scientist Daniel Purcell (William Hurt), with whom she shares a past. He seeks her out as 'the one person powerful enough to help him', but his reappearance in Patty's life has fatal consequences…
More intrigue comes in the shape of mysterious loner Wes Krulik (Timothy Olyphant), who meets Ellen at a grief counselling session. He quickly worms his way into Ellen's life and offers her a means of getting revenge for her fiance's murder.
And there's word of disgraced – and presumed dead – Frobisher, but does Ellen want to hear it..?
