Look What He Dug Up This Time

Purcell continues to be plagued by flashbacks to the night of his wife Christine's murder in this penultimate episode of the second series. And his living nightmare's made worse when the family dog unearths a piece of vital forensic evidence in the garden.
But it turns out Purcell's memory of the ill-fated night has one serious flaw – Christine was alive when he left her – though his attempt to strangle her meant she was unable to defend herself when The Deacon arrived to clean up the scene and turn out her lights for good.
Unaware of the full story, a guilt-ridden Purcell confronts the immovable Kendrick, while once again offering to be Patty's star witness in the UNR case. Purcell's damaged goods, however, and no good to man nor beast in the witness stand now, though Patty thinks he might just be the man to crack those GPS codes and connect them to UNR… and she's not wrong.
The other men in Patty's life are also making waves. Phil's keen to apologise for his affair with his blonde London totty, but Patty's more interested in his recent UNR trades – yes, this woman knows everything! – and the conversation swiftly turns to divorce when she learns it was power broker Dave Pell who put Phil onto the stock and nominated him for the post of Energy Secretary.
Michael, meanwhile, stings his mother with a few home truths, and Tom declines Patty's suggestion to bribe a judge – though that's only after being set up by Ellen, who seems to be running the FBI case now! Smug Ellen also looks to have disarmed Wes. He finally gets her to take that trip to the woods, but finds himself unable to pull the trigger when the time comes.
Kendrick's pretty sure of himself, too – but will Purcell's visit to the local cop shop reopen the case into Christine's murder and expose the CEO's murderous past?
