Ellen's furious with Patty's decision to enlist Frobisher as lead plaintiff in the UNR case, but her attention is distracted after she spies Uncle Pete coming out of her office and asks her FBI chums to investigate Patty's right-hand man. Turns out Uncle Pete, who is Patty's biological relative, has a record going back 50-odd years and only escaped a prison sentence for petty racketeering thanks to his attorney... Patty.

Now, Uncle Pete's up to no good again and the Feds manage to set him up. In the cells, he's given the choice of doing the dirty on Patty and being allowed to walk free and continue caring for his terminally-ill wife, or going straight to jail. His decision? A crafty trip home where he overdoses on his wife's meds. Always loyal to Patty...

Meanwhile, Patty and Frobisher, organise a press conference where they put on a united front. But Frobisher's newfound inner peace is disturbed by an unwanted visit from 'Bearded Man' who tells him they have to deal with Katie Connor.

Kendrick and Lester's attempts to bolster UNR come a cropper when their rogue trader's caught snorting cocaine with a hooker. Maddox manages to get the sex worker probation, but Tom Shayes is on the case and soon has the trader in his sights.
