Desperate Housewives

"Each new day in suburbia brings with it a new set of lies. The worst are the ones we tell ourselves right before we fall asleep..."
It's been a long wait, thanks to the Hollywood writers' strike, but fans of the narcotic, neurotic series on the verge of a nervous breakdown can now enjoy their weekly instalment of suburban mayhem in Wisteria Lane.
Series four of the comedy-drama sees the return of all the much-loved characters... Lynette (Felicity Huffman) battles the effects of her chemotherapy sessions causing her to push Tom (Doug Savant) away. Edie (Nicollette Sheridan) is shocked by news she receives at the gynaecologist's office, sparking gossip through Fairview - and an unexpected visitor discovers Bree's (Marcia Cross) pregnancy is a hoax.
It's only a matter of time before the affair between Carlos (Ricardo Chavira) and Gabrielle (Eva Longoria) is discovered... And an old favourite returns to mix everything up.
Meanwhile, the arrival of new neighbours at Wisteria Lane has everyone intrigued. Not so Susan (Teri Hatcher), who immediately recognises Katherine Mayfair (played by Emmy-winning China Beach star Dana Delaney). So why have Katherine and her doctor husband Adam moved back to the lane after 12 years away?
Look out for other great additions to the cast in series four, including The West Wing star Gary Cole and Mike Farrell (BJ Hunnicutt in M*A*S*H), and with all the immoral behaviour, sordid lies, the dark secrets and quirky humour, there are the tasty makings of a great new series.
As their late friend, Mary Alice Young, put it: "Of course most of what's visible to the dead could also be seen by the living - if they would only take the time to look."
