Desperate Housewives rocked by plane crash

Eva Longoria Parker, Teri Hatcher and the rest of the Desperate Housewives will see their lives turned upside down when a small plane crashes on Wisteria Lane.

The show's creator Marc Cherry has revealed the tragedy, to be shown in the upcoming sixth season of the award-winning drama, will rock the lives of the housewives - sexy Gabrielle Solis (Eva), Susan Mayer (Teri), Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman) and Bree Van de Kamp (Marcia Cross).

"It's going to be my cliffhanger for the first half of the season, and will affect everyone's lives," he told Entertainment Weekly.

Marc insists the catastrophe won't claim a housewife's life, but isn't divulging who is on board the aircraft and who will be in its path.

"I'd love to kill somebody because that's just what I do. But the truth is, right now I don't have anyone major dying," he added.

There's no word as to who will witness the disaster.

The new season of Desperate Housewives, already airing in the US, will be shown on UK screens in the New Year.
