Lynette gets a huge shock when her mum Stella pays a visit and tells her she’s marrying a man she met a month ago at her retirement village’s water aerobics session – and they’re tying the knot this week! Then Lynette gets a bigger jolt when she finally meets Frank Kominsky (played by former Dallas star Larry Hagman), who is arrogant, abrasive, racist, sexist and generally dislikeable.
She really tries to put off her mum, who then shocks her further when she reveals she’s marrying Frank for his money as she doesn’t expect him to live for long. Lynette becomes determined to stop the sham marriage. But after a heart-to-heart at the ceremony in which her mum tells her she wants to feel needed again, Lynette finally accepts Stella’s choice.
Susan tries to befriend a dialysis patient Mick, but is rebuked. Then when she understands Mick’s worries and another patient gets a donor the pair hold hands and become close. Bree is disturbed when she gets a visit from one of Keith’s old girlfriends, Amber, and later finds out he has a son by her. When she talks to Keith about wanting a child, it causes a huge bust-up. When he finds out about his son, is this going to cause the couple grief?
Bob and Lee use Renee’s interior design skills to create the perfect bedroom for their newly adopted daughter Jenny. They then ask Renee if she’d like to be the one Jenny comes to with any female-related problems. Renee agrees as long as she’s not known as the ‘old aunt down the road’.
Things are a little less perfect with Gaby, whose obsession with her $800 new doll is worrying her neighbour Mrs McCluskey and husband Carlos. Does Gaby need counselling like their daughter Juanita? Carlos and Mrs McCluskey certainly think so. In fact when Gaby goes out with Carlos, she insists on belting up her doll in the back seat. Then there’s all sorts of pandemonium when they get car-jacked and the doll is stolen along with their vehicle. Will this tip Gaby over the edge?
