Dexter was intrigued when he spotted a vial of blood hanging around Chase’s neck, and wondered how he could get his hands on the necklace. As he was discussing it with Lumen, a drunk Astor turned up with her friend Olivia.

Dexter met Chase and managed to get a blood sample from his necklace, but Chase noticed a drop of blood on the necklace and realised that Dexter was up to something.

Quinn shocked Debra by confessing that he loved her, but any burgeoning love affair was ruined when Debra learned he was investigating Dexter because of his suspicions of a link to the Trinity Killer.

Dexter got a call from Lumen saying that Astor and Olivia had disappeared. After neighbours said that they saw a white van in the area, they found the van’s driver who turned out to be Olivia’s step-father.

After Lumen noticed bruises on Olivia’s stomach, Astor told Dexter that Olivia’s step father beat her. Dexter confronted the step-father and told him to leave Olivia and her mother alone.

Liddy showed Quinn pictures of Lumen and Dexter loading a boat, but Quinn told him to call everything off.

Dexter got the blood test back from Chase’s necklace. It turned out to be of a woman who was still alive. Chase called Dexter’s house and Lumen answered, and was scared when Chase ended their conversation by saying, ‘Take care Lumen.’
