A Love Supreme

Victor has been imprinted as a psychotherapist and questions Echo, but he can find nothing wrong with her. Topher, too, believes Echo is physically fine but, when Adelle leaves, he confronts Boyd and Ballard. He knows something’s up – Echo’s brain scans are going crazy – and they confess she’s retained every imprint she’s ever had and can switch between them.

Later, Adelle decides Echo is going back into the field. She’s sent on an engagement but finds the client is dead. He was killed before the appointment was made and Echo soon realises that Alpha is back!

The Dollhouse gets a message from the rogue Active telling them of his next victim but, when Boyd, Ballard and a response team arrive at the scene, they find Alpha has Echo’s former client strapped to a bomb. Alpha reveals that he’s jealous of the love that Echo has for her clients, and blows his hostage to pieces!

Boyd and Ballard realise that Alpha has been working his way through Echo’s former clients, killing those she’d had romantic engagements with one by one. The last living client is Joel Mynor, the Internet millionaire. He’s tracked down and brought into the Dollhouse for safety, but Alpha has found his way in and activates a remote imprinting device, making the Actives attack the Dollhouse staff.

In the chaos, Alpha captures Ballard. He knows of Ballard’s relationship with Echo and wipes his mind in the imprinting chair! Meanwhile, Echo has escaped from her cell and finds Ballard unconscious. She attacks Alpha and is getting the upper hand until Ballard’s voice, begging for death, comes from Alpha’s mouth. Stunned, Echo lets Alpha get away.

Later, as Boyd and Topher deactivate the Dolls one by one, they find Echo cradling Ballard’s limp body.
