At the request of Dollhouse shareholder Bradley Karrens, Adelle agrees to bring his comatose nephew, Terry, into their facility. Bradley doesn't believe traditional medicine can help him and reveals that his nephew has a dark secret – he believes Terry’s holding several women somewhere and he wants to free them while they're still alive.

Adelle's solution is to imprint Victor with Terry's persona so Ballard can interrogate him, but it's soon apparent that Terry’s brain is abnormal – he's a psychopath… a killer! Uncle Brad takes matters into his own hands, causes a diversion and sneaks Victor out of the Dollhouse to take him to the women. But Victor/Terry knocks Uncle Brad unconscious and walks free into LA.

Meanwhile, Echo is programmed as sexy student Kiki so a professor can live out his fantasy of giving grades in return for sexual favours. As she’s flirting with the academic in his office, Topher attempts a remote mind-wipe on Victor, which shorts out the Dollhouse system and flips the two Actives' personalities. Victor is in a nightclub when he suddenly becomes Kiki, much to everyone’s amusement, until Ballard arrives to collect him. But Echo, now with psychopath Terry’s persona, stabs the professor in the neck and heads for the captive women.

She arrives at Terry's lair just as the women are about to make their escape and beats them back. But Echo suddenly glitches and gets a moment of clarity. Realising that Terry’s persona will resurface, she tells them to kill her or they'll be killed, themselves. Just as she's about to be beaten to death, Ballard and a security team arrive, and she's taken back to the Dollhouse.

But, though her mind is wiped, it's obvious that she still retains an element of Terry's personality…
