Getting Closer

Echo needs to recover Caroline's memory of the two Rossum founders but the persona wedge has mysteriously gone missing. The back-up wedge was damaged by Alpha and it can only be restored with Bennett Halverson's help. Ballard and Boyd break into the DC Dollhouse, kidnap Bennett and take her back to LA, but she's not happy when she realises she has to fix Caroline's persona.

Dominic escapes from the Attic with the news that Rossum is on to them and DeWitt orders an evacuation. Echo persuades Bennett to fix the wedge but as she and Topher complete their work, Dr Claire Saunders, who's been brought back to the Dollhouse by Boyd, shoots Bennett dead! Dr Saunders was a Rossum sleeper.

As Echo is imprinted with Caroline's persona, Rossum agents invade the Dollhouse. But, as the imprint takes hold, Echo relives Caroline's memories, one of which is her meeting with Clyde Randolph, the head of Rossum, after she was captured in the company's labs. Then his mysterious partner enters - unbelievably it's Boyd Langton!

The Hollow Men

DeWitt and the team set out to destroy Rossum but Echo is hysterical and has to be sedated. They arrive at Rossum HQ and are confronted by the persona of Clyde Randolph in the body of Dr Saunders. As Echo is taken away, the others are locked up but Boyd soon breaks them out.

Under the pretence of finding Echo, Boyd leads Topher to a lab where Topher's device for converting people into Actives is being turned into a weapon. The device is faulty, however, and Boyd convinces Topher to fix it. Once he does, Boyd reveals himself as the other Rossum partner. His technicians couldn't make it work - now Topher's done it for him!

Echo suddenly beats Boyd to the ground, but she's stopped in her tracks by an armed Clyde. Boyd explains that Echo is special; her spinal fluid can be turned into a serum to make the chosen few immune to imprinting.

Meanwhile, Anthony and Priya return to the deserted LA Dollhouse and find a primed imprinting chair waiting for them. Anthony is given Topher's persona and accesses security footage, which reveals that Boyd has betrayed them all. Once he's restored, Anthony and Priya head for Rossum.

They arrive in time to rescue Echo from the device extracting her spinal fluid, and set off to free the others while Echo takes out Clyde. Boyd suddenly appears, however, and is about to shoot when Topher zaps him with his imprinting device! Boyd is reduced to an Active and Echo gives him a grenade and tells him to pull the pin when she leaves. She escapes to join the others as a huge explosion destroys the labs.

Ten years later, Echo and Ballard are fighting through an apocalyptic LA. Despite their efforts, Rossum has been successful!

Epitaph Two: Return

This final episode of the series follows on from Epitaph One at the end of season one. It's 2020, and Mag, Zone and a child imprinted with Caroline's persona are trying to find Safe Haven, a place where they can escape from the Butchers or feral Actives that make up most of the world's population. They eventually fall in with Paul Ballard and Echo, who have rescued a somewhat unstable Topher, who's been forced to work for Rossum.

The group arrive at a farm where Adele, Priya and her son live, and it's not long before Victor arrives with a team of super-soldiers in answer to Echo's summons. Topher has discovered a way to revert everyone's minds to their original states, but he needs equipment at the LA Dollhouse. An armoured truck takes the team into LA and they fight their way to the Dollhouse. But Mag is hit in the legs and as Ballard goes back for her he's shot and killed!

The others enter the Dollhouse and find Alpha, who is reformed and looking after blank Actives. Here, with Alpha's help, Topher is able to complete his device and he activates it in Adelle's old office. The resulting explosion kills him but the wave it produces is successful, bringing all Actives back to their former personas. Civilisation can start again!

Below in the Dollhouse, Echo finds an imprint wedge left for her. She uploads it into her mind and discovers it's Ballard's persona. Now they can be together forever...
