Monaghan: 'I love British banter'
06/11/2009 - 11:50

Dominic Monaghan has confessed he loves working with fellow British actors on new TV drama FlashForward as they can chat about football.
The Lost star plays scientist Simon in the show, which co-stars Jack Davenport and Joseph Fiennes.
Dominic revealed: "You know it's nice to be with Brits because there's a shorthand that they understand - you can talk football and you can talk politics and stuff like that and they know what you're talking about."
He added: "Jack and I have worked together quite a bit and he's an Arsenal fan, which is a real shame, and I'm a Manchester United fan which is obviously brilliant. So we have a lot of conversations about that.
"He's kind of become a whipping boy because, you know, Arsenal are not the team that they used to be and Manchester United continue to be the greatest football team in the world.
"So it's fine for me right now I'm kind of sitting pretty and we'll see when United play Arsenal - we'll see what kind of camaraderie there is on set."
The 32-year-old actor, who grew up in Manchester, revealed how he keeps his British roots in Hollywood.
He said: "A lot of British TV gets sent over to me on DVD and I watch United week in week out and I fly there for big games and I see my friends.
"I have Colemans mustard in my house and Branston Pickle and HP sauce and Marmite and stuff like that so I'm still pretty British."
FlashForward is on Five on Mondays at 9pm.
