Joshua Jackson was reluctant to work in TV again

Fringe star Joshua Jackson says he was 'reluctant' to work on a new TV show after Dawson’s Creek.

The actor – who played Pacey – now appears as Peter Bishop in the mysterious scientific drama despite concentrating on film roles in the six years since he left his role in the hit teen series.

He told the Glasgow Sunday Mail: "I was reluctant to do another TV show - once bitten twice shy, as they say. There were opportunities that came up before. Going in the first time I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Oddly, as I got older the hours got harder, but psychologically working on a TV show got easier.”

Joshua added: "Given that it's a lot of work, you want it to be enjoyable and satisfying so who you are working with becomes nearly as important as what you're working on. The Fringe guys had a great track record of being able to keep shows going for a long time. Making a great pilot and a sucky show is horrible."
