Neither Here Nor There

With Peter gone from their lives, having never existed, the Fringe team is different. Olivia is colder and less open, while Walter is a mess and never leaves the lab. There is an uneasy truce with the alternate world, but Walter is still untrusting of Walternate.

The squad is called in after a new form of shapeshifter kills a cop. The dead cop’s partner is our universe’s version of Lincoln Lee and his curiosity about Fringe Division leads to him becoming part of the team. The shapeshifters are different to the ones we’ve seen before, which were sent over here by Walternate, but Walter and Olivia are still suspicious that their old enemy could be to blame.

Walter is haunted by images of Peter, but has no idea who he is. An Observer tasks September (the Observer who became involved with Walter and Peter) with eradicating all traces of Peter from the universe, but after building a machine to do this, he appears to change his mind…
