Once Upon a Time in Texas

Hiro travels three years into the past to attempt to save his love, waitress Charlie Andrews, from the murderous hands of Sylar. Freezing time he removes Sylar from the Texas diner to a safe place and convinces Charlie to come away with him, but he soon realises that Charlie is dying from her brain aneurysm!

Only Sylar can save her, so Hiro rushes off to find him and, after a brief duel, convinces Sylar to help Charlie in exchange for information about his future. Sylar performs an 'operation' on her brain which cures her and Hiro then tells him of his murderous future and eventual defeat at the hands of the Heroes. Nevertheless, Sylar is content to continue his pursuit of 'The Cheerleader' and goes on his way.

Hiro and Charlie can now spend the rest of their lives together but, as they leave the diner, Charlie disappears! Waiting for Hiro is Samuel who tells him he has taken Charlie, suggesting she's at the carnival in the present. But when Hiro transports them back, she's not there! Samuel is keeping Charlie hidden from him to get Hiro to help him do what he wants... starting with an event eight weeks previously. In a flashback, Samuel is seen standing over the motionless body of Mohinder Suresh!

Meanwhile, in the Texas diner three years ago, Noah is eating breakfast with his colleague, Lauren. She suggests their relationship should be moving towards something more than just friends and gives him her room key. But events lead Noah to realise his family means too much to him and eventually tells Lauren his decision. Rather than spoil their working relationship, Lauren has the Haitian wipe her memory.
