Tabula Rasa

Peter takes Hiro to hospital where he learns of his friend's terminal illness and, after encouraging a troubled Emma to talk to Hiro about her worries, he goes in search of help. Noah knows of a young boy with a healing power and he and Peter teleport to Jeremy Greer's house. But, once there, they find the boy's parents dead - Jeremy's power has changed to take life as well as give it.

Suddenly, a frightened Jeremy shoots at them with a shotgun and Peter is hit in the chest. With his friend close to death, Noah eventually persuades Jeremy to try to save him and, amazing even himself, he brings Peter back to full health. Noah stays to help Jeremy face the police, and, after acquiring the boy's ability, Peter returns to the hospital.

Meanwhile, Hiro is determined to convince Emma to embrace her new ability and invites her to a magic show he's putting on for the hospital's children. She helps him with a disappearing act in which he freezes time and Emma is made to realise the good she can do. Hiro suddenly remembers someone from his past that he has to help - Texan waitress Charlie Andrews - and, just before Peter arrives, he's transported back three years to Charlie's diner.

And Samuel introduces Sylar to Damian, who can help him regain memories of his past. In the carnival's House of Mirrors, Sylar is horrified to see the atrocities he's committed, but this is all part of Samuel's plan to tempt him back to his old ways. Samuel brings him together with Lubbock, the police officer who's hunting him, but Sylar can't bring himself to kill him and Edgar rushes in and finishes Lubbock himself.
