The Art of Deception

At Matt’s home, Sylar asks Matt to mentally suppress his powers so that he can be normal again. But when he threatens Janice and Matt’s son, Matt traps Sylar in his own nightmare: a world where no one exists but himself. Matt then begins building a brick wall in the basement to seal Sylar in for good, but is interrupted by Peter. Borrowing Matt's ability, Peter touches Sylar's head, and soon finds himself wandering a desolate city.

Claire suspects that Noah is planning an attack on the carnival and alerts Lydia.

Samuel realises he needs to win back the trust of his family following the destruction of the town. After learning of Noah’s plan, he agrees to turn himself over. But in fact he has arranged for Eli to shoot him, so that Noah takes the blame.

While addressing the carnival, Eli open fires, injuring many of the carnies, and fatally wounding Lydia. As Samuel kisses her, she is horrified to see he planned the attack – with her as the ultimate sacrifice.

Noah is then captured and locked up, but not before he gets a chance to tell Claire that he was not the shooter. As Emma and Edgar arrive, Lauren places a call to Tracy Strauss...
