House star Jesse Spencer has said he 'totally gets' why Hugh Laurie has become a sex symbol in the US.
The actor and former Neighbours star plays Dr Robert Chase in the hit US drama and explained Hugh’s surprise heartthrob status.
Jesse said: "It's so foreign for the English - they're like, 'Hugh Laurie what? He's a heartthrob? How's that even possible?'"
But the actor explained that in America it’s a different story: "That's the advantage of places like the States that did not have a preconception of who he was.
“They can place him in a role like that without being worried about what an audience would think because most people weren't aware of who he was."
Jesse added that he enjoys working with Hugh: "He's a perfectionist. It's always the specifics of a scene which make it really good and the acting nuggets of gold which he throws in which turn a scene from a good scene to a great scene.
“Watching him explore scenes and find these great little moments is always fun to watch, and it's great to work with someone who's constantly trying to better himself."
