House's Hugh Laurie: 'I hate doing nude scenes'

Hugh Laurie talks about how the nude scenes in the new series of House reminded him of his most embarrassing movie moment.

Speaking on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Hugh Laurie spoke of his embarrassment at filming a naked scene involving himself and castmate Dr Lisa Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) for the opening episode of House series seven.

"There is a physical union that takes place early in the first episode. It was not very comfortable at all."

"These things are awkward anyway, let alone when there are 30 guys wearing jeans with their arms crossed in the room at the same time".

One shot in particular shows a naked Hugh with only a laptop covering his modesty - speaking of the scene he said: "I would happily have chosen to do a bungee jump than that."

But the actor insists baring all on the House set was much less embarassing than the last time he took his clothes off for his role in the 2000 film, Maybe Baby.

"I had to be outside in a London street and we had cleverly scheduled the scene at six o'clock in the morning when there would be nobody about. Filming is filming and of course it was 8.45 when we finally came to shoot it.

"That of course meant the local paparazzi had had a nice leisurely breakfast before strolling down, there was also a nearby girls school where mothers were delivering their daughters... I was completely nude, it was incredibly embarassing."

House series seven kicks off on Sunday, October 3 at 10pm.
