Jesse Spencer: 'I'm really squeamish'
02/10/2009 - 15:51

House star Jesse Spencer has revealed he has become more squeamish over the course of being in the hit medical show.
The Australian actor, who plays Dr Robert Chase alongside leading man Hugh Laurie, said: "I never used to be bad and I've been getting worse over the years. I don't know what it is. I think it's when they use foods.
"Back in season one they had this newborn baby and they covered it in jam and cream. Under the hot lights, the smell of foods and mixed in with plastic and gooey stuff after a while is just a bit wrong!"
He added: "And the smell of gloves and latex is a bit off-putting after a while. It's the smell that gets me!"
Series 5 of House is out on DVD, and series 6 is set to air on Sky1 from Sunday October 4.
Former Neighbours actor Jesse said the new series will see his character back on House's team in the department of diagnostic medicine, after having spent a few years in surgery.
Although he enjoys the physical aspects of playing a surgeon, he said it got quite gory.
"We pulled tapeworms from people's stomachs and drilled into their brains. We pulled all sorts of horrible stuff," he said.
