Kal Penn's promoted from House to the White House
12/06/2009 - 09:42

Actor Kal Penn, who plays Dr Kutner in House, was rumoured to have stood up new boss Barack Obama when he failed to show up at his new job in Washington.
Penn, real name Kalpen Suresh Moti, campaigned heavily for the US President in the run-up to the election and recently accepted a job in Obama's administration as Associate Director at the White House Office of Public Engagement, working with the Asian American, Pacific Islander and arts communities.
It seems, however, speculation that the Harold & Kumar star had changed his mind about moving from acting to politics was premature.
Penn has been busy filming Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain in Mumbai and a source close to him said that no definite start date in Washington had been discussed and that it could be any time during the summer.
Penn's departure from House, later in the current series, is set to be a real shocker.
