*Lost returns to Sky1 on Friday, February 5*

In the previous series of the US drama, the Oceanic Six were torn over whether or not to return to the island to help the people they left behind. Back on the island, the remaining Losties experienced time-travel and became stuck in the 1970s where they became members of the Dharma Initiative.

Locke managed to escape from the island to persuade the Oceanic Six to go back and, thinking that he had failed to do so, decided to take his own life. However, he changed his mind after learning Jack actually was planning to return - though a vengeful Ben took Locke's life anyway.

The Oceanic Six boarded a plane that would take them back to the island. The flight transported Jack, Hurley, Kate and Sayid back to the 1970s, while Sun, Ben and the mysteriously revived Locke arrived on the island in the 21st Century!

In the 1970s, Jack hatched a plot to detonate a nuclear bomb at the site of the hatch, keeping the island's magnetic powers contained and meaning Flight 815 would never crash.

Meanwhile, Locke led the Others to find Jacob, the mysterious keeper of the island, where he forced Ben to kill the enigmatic stranger. However, newcomer Ilana revealed that Locke was still dead and someone or something else had taken his form...

As the sixth and final series begins, we're presented with two separate timelines and we'll get to see many of the Losties in roles we wouldn't expect. Many former characters are set to return as we discover what would have happened if Flight 815 had never crashed.

We'll also discover more about the Smoke Monster - what, or perhaps who, is it and how is it connected to the mysterious Man in Black, with whom Jacob appears to be locked in conflict over ownership of the island. And the Jack/Kate/Sawyer love triangle will finally be resolved as Sawyer struggles to deal with what happened to Juliet.

As the series concludes, we're promised answers to many of the show's biggest questions, though we may never learn quite why the island possesses the powers it has!
