Lost's Matthew Fox is quitting TV

Lost star Matthew Fox has vowed not to appear in another TV show after the series finishes next year.

News24 reports that the actor, who plays Dr Jack Shephard in the US fantasy drama series, is planning to avoid roles on the small screen, stating that "I'm pretty sure that [Lost] will be the last television thing that I will do."

Matthew, 42, has previously appeared in TV series including Party of Five and Haunted, but is now keen to focus on his film career.

Asked about his dream role, he admits he'd love to star in biopic of Steve McQueen. "He was an action guy and a man of few words and he liked his roles like that."

Hawaii-based Lost is due to finish filming after its sixth season, with the final episode scheduled to screen next summer.
