Juliet detonated the atomic bomb, apparently creating two different time lines. One, where Flight 815 never crashed (causing all sorts of changes to history). The other saw the 1970s-stranded Losties transported back to the 21st Century.
On Flight 815, Jack bonds with Desmond and Rose before saving the life of Charlie, who was trying to swallow the drugs he is smuggling. Sawyer helps Kate escape from her guard, and she takes a taxi driver and a pregnant Claire hostage.
On the island in the other timeline, Sawyer attempts to rescue Juliet from the wreckage of the hatch. The pair share a tender moment before she dies, but Miles delivers a final message from her to Sawyer – 'it worked'.
Hurley is visited by a Jacob, who tells him to take the mortally wounded Sayid to the Temple. The gang go with him and they are captured by a new group of Others, one of whom is Cindy the air stewardess from Flight 815.
The Others perform a bizarre ritual on Sayid, who drowns – but is later resurrected. The Temple is then put into Locke down after the Others learn of Jacob's death.
On the other side of the island, Jacob has been killed by Ben and the Ajira Airways people storm the statue. Fake Locke apparently turns into the Smoke Monster and takes them out. He then demands to see Richard, who he appears to know from the past…
