Caged Heat

After delivering a Rugaru to Crowley's demons, Sam and Dean are captured by the demon Meg and her Lucifer loyalist followers - who are on the run from Crowley. Sam strikes a deal with Meg that he and Dean will help her kill Crowley if she helps get information of how to get his soul back. Meg agrees.

After Castiel fails to locate Crowley, Sam and Dean head over to the Campbell compound, but Samuel refuses to help because Crowley has promised to resurrect Mary (Sam and Dean’s mother). The brothers leave – but not before Samuel tells them about a secret facility where Crowley is torturing supernatural beings for information onPurgatory.

While preparing to storm the prison, Castiel tells Dean that if Sam gets his soul back he will be mentally destroyed because of the tortures inflicted on it by Lucifer and Michael. Dean and Cas are unaware that Sam is listening in.

The attack proceeds, but invisible hellhounds block the way. Meg (who can see the creatures) stands guard, allowing Sam, Dean and Castiel to break in. Castiel is then banished to Heaven (due to a spell drawn by the double-crossing Samuel), and the boys are captured and locked up in separate cells.

After killing the guards, Sam then rescues Dean from hungry ghouls and saves Meg from being tortured by a possessed Christian. The trio then trick Crowley into a devil’s trap, and discover he cannot get Sam’s soul back. Castiel then appears with Crowley’s remains and, when Crowley reiterates that his hands are tied, Castiel burns the bones, destroying Crowley.

The episode ends with Sam telling Dean that he’s better off without his soul.
