Mommy Dearest (VIDEO)

Armed with five shotguns packed with phoenix ashes, Bobby, Castiel and the Winchester boys track Eve down to the small town of Grants Pass in Oregon where she has transformed the patrons of a local bar into hybrid creatures (dubbed Jefferson Starships by Dean) that combine the dark powers of vampires, wraiths and shapeshifters.

After the gang are arrested and taken to a police station, Sam realises the cops are also hybrids and kills them all but one, who gives up Eve’s location to a powerless Castiel. Sam and Dean locate Eve, who has taken the form of their late mother Mary, and learns that Crowley isn’t dead and that he is using the souls of Eve’s children as power. They also learn she is using the town as a laboratory for creating a monster capable of evading Crowley's clutches, and has perfected one in the form of a boy called Ryan (who the Winchesters met while in jail).

Eve offers to let Sam and Dean go if they bring her Crowley, but the brothers reject her offer. The angry Eve then tries to turn Dean, but is poisoned by his blood which has been tainted by some phoenix ashes washed down with a couple of shots of whisky.

The episode ends with Crowley and Cas meeting in secret while Bobby and the boys argue over whether the angel is hiding something from them.
