The Man Who Would Be King (VIDEO)

In this Castiel-centric episode, the warring angel (who wonders whether stopping the Apocalypse was the right choice after all) meets with Crowley, who instructs him to kill Sam and Dean because they destroyed Eve, ruining his plans. Cas refuses and warns Crowley against harming the brothers.

After secretly saving Sam, Dean and Bobby from a demon attack Cas reveals in a monologue that he used 50,000 souls from Hell to start his coup in Heaven because Raphael wants to restart the Apocalypse by freeing Michael and Lucifer.

When the Winchesters trap Cas in a circle of holy fire, Dean realises the terrible truth that Cas and Crowley are in league with each other. Crowley then frees Cas, who asks Dean to understand that he is working with the king of Hell in order to help mankind. But Dean rejects Cas’s pleas, telling him he will stop him.

The episode ends with Castiel asking God for a sign and if he doesn’t answer then he will proceed with his plan. God doesn't answer…
