The Third Man

With Heaven in a state of anarchy, Castiel has had his hands full trying to stop his brother Raphael from releasing Lucifer to help out Sam and Dean, who are investigating the murder of three cops from the curse of blood, boils and locusts - three of the ancient Egyptian plagues.

When Castiel finally appears, it is determined that a thief has stolen the Staff of Moses from an arsenal of God's weapons in order to kill the officers.

The brothers get a lead that the cops were involved in the shooting of a suspect called Christopher, and pay the man’s father a visit, where they learn his brother, Aaron, had prayed for divine retribution and had an angel grant his wish in exchange for his soul.

Castiel determines the angel responsible to be Balthazar (Sebastian Roché) through a brand inside of Aaron and decides to track him. However, Raphael is looking for Balthazar as well leading to a confrontation between the trio of angels and the Winchester brothers.

Balthazar uses another weapon (the ashes of Lot’s wife) to disintegrate Raphael's host into salt, Dean traps Balthazar in holy fire and forces him to return Aaron's soul, then Castiel releases Balthazar and the angels go their separate ways.

The episode ends with Dean feeling concerned that there’s something not quite right about his brother. But Sam assures him he's fine…
