Back in Her Place

This is possibly Betty’s worst week ever. The episode begins in flashback with Betty in trouble with her landlord for overdue rent (Amanda failed to tell her she moved out of the apartment two months before). Betty later suffers from a sprained ankle, a skin rash and bad hair, caused as a result of Wilhelmina’s annoyance at Betty’s idea for a human interest story about walking a mile in someone else’s shoes. She gives Betty a pair of stilettos to walk a mile in, reminding her that Mode is a fashion magazine. Next Wilhelmina gives her some beauty cream and a hair product to trial. Betty reacts to both.

Meanwhile, Daniel thinks Marc is trying to sabotage their working relationship by messing things up, but Marc soon points out that since he’s been his assistant he’s been on the cover of three newspapers and lost weight.

Betty talks to Hilda and Matt about her frustrations at work and Matt suggests she write a blog. Later, he gets enthusiastic about one of her subjects, an aid worker in Africa, and announces he’s signed up to volunteer in Africa for six months. Betty is stunned, but soon realises she must let Matt follow his dream.

At home, Hilda’s hormones are raging and Bobby dedicates the week to her to show how much he cares.

Elsewhere, Wilhelmina fears that Connor is distancing himself from her, so she proposes to him in prison. But when she returns in her wedding gown with Marc as their witness, she discovers he’s been transferred to another jail.
