Ugly Betty

Betty is feeling lonely, so she makes an effort to get to know her neighbours by throwing a karaoke party. While she’s busy putting up posters, she inadvertently lets in a couple posing as locked out tenants and later learns that some of the apartments have been burgled. Feeling guilty, Betty persuades the landlord to install some new electronic locks on the main doors.

Meanwhile, Marc is being buffeted between Daniel and Wilhelmina, who can’t seem to see eye-to-eye on anything. Amanda takes it on herself to employ a couples’ counsellor to sort them out. Marc decides to apply for the senior fashion editor position. However, he soon discovers his laptop was stolen. Betty offers to help him rewrite his application, albeit during the karaoke party. Suddenly there is a city-wide blackout, and now with the new electronic door locks, everyone is shut in the building. Betty again feels the wrath of the residents. When her dad calls to see how she is, she tells him she needs someone to pick the locks. Ignatio passes the phone to Bobby who talks her through unlocking the doors. Marc is besides himself as he’s now missed the deadline for submitting his application.

The next day, Wilhelmina tells Marc to get Champagne and flowers for the new editor. Then surprises him. He’s the new junior fashion editor.

At the ultrascan, Bobby, Ignatio and Betty comfort Hilda when she finds out she’s no longer pregnant.
