Sean Marland

Feature Writer

Sean is a Feature Writer across What’s On TV, TV Times and TV & Satellite Week, covering everything from prime time drama to BBC4 documentaries.

He joined the team in 2012 after serving as the editor of a popular television listings website and has covered more TV shows than you could shake a remote controller at. After going on set to interview actors about their latest projects, he delights in bringing readers exclusive content, in-depth features and hot gossip from behind-the-scenes of their favourite shows.

He enjoys comedies and history docs, but his main interest is contemporary drama and he's interviewed some of Britain’s brightest stars, including Keeley Hawes, Idris Elba and Olivia Colman, to uncover the truth about everything, from that scene in Bodyguard to whether they’ll be the next James Bond.

In recent years, he’s also served as the team’s Doctor Who correspondent and has interviewed Jodie Whittaker, who played the first female Doctor with such style in 2018, on a number of occasions as well as setting foot inside the TARDIS! When he isn’t nosing around TV sets, you’ll most likely find Sean out running, or with a cup of tea in his hand, ready to dive into a gripping new Netflix series – no spoilers please!
