Rex found it hard to hide his delight when he was announced as one of the nominees on Tuesday night. “Yes!” he shouted. “My heart’s going fast now.”
Jennifer, on the other hand, didn’t take the news quite so well and looked upset, despite trying to put a brave face on things and telling Rebecca she was not bothered.
“We knew it was going to be one of us, didn’t we,” Rebecca told her, “Let’s just carry on with it.”
“Well, that’s what happens when you speak your mind,” Jennifer pointed out.
Afterwards, Rex revealed his true feelings to Mohamed. “I’m not looking forward to my booing,” he said, “but I can’t wait to tell my girlfriend how much I love her.”
“I wanted to walk out with my head held high, I’ve tried my hardest. I just don’t care anymore. I want to get back to my life.”
However, Mohamed assured Rex he would not be evicted, while Kathreya added how upset she would be if he got the boot.
“Now I’m just going to be with horrible people,” she told him.
Meanwhile, Jennifer told her arch rival that she saw her nomination coming. “I knew it was going to be me,” she said to Rex, “I had a feeling this morning.
“I know I’ve been myself and I know you’re yourself as well,” she added, “this is how you are in the outside world. At least we’re real people, we’re not two-faced.”
Both Rex and Jennifer each received six votes from their fellow housemates.
Rex was nominated by Dale, Luke, Rebecca, Michael, Stuart and Luke, while Jennifer received nominations from Darnell, Kathreya, Lisa, Mohamed, Rex and Rachel.
Luke was initially banned from nominating as a punishment for discussing nominations, and was sent to jail. However the housemates used their ‘get out of jail’ card to free him, and Big Brother relented.
Had his ban stuck then Rebecca, who received five nominations, would also be facing the public vote.
Rachel received three nominations, while Mohamed and Darnell each notched up two. Mario and Kathreya both received one.
However Dale, Stuart, Luke, Mikey and Lisa received no nominations at all.
