Jo Butler has become the eighth person to be booted from the Big Brother 2010 house after losing out in a four-way eviction battle.

The 41-year-old self-confessed ‘cougar’, who had been hot favourite to leave, received 39.4 per cent of the public vote ahead of fellow nominees Dave, Sam and JJ.

She had been in the house for just three weeks after being chosen as a new housemate by the others, along with JJ and Laura.

Boxer JJ is the only one of the trio who is now left in the house, after Laura quit within days of arriving.

Jo appeared unsurprised at the news she would be leaving, although was shocked by the reaction she heard from the crowd outside.

“They’re really booing me!” she said as she waited for the front door to open.

And she did indeed receive a largely negative reaction as she left, to the sounds of Tom Jones’s What’s New Pussycat.

Afterwards, she admitted in her eviction interview that she had “struggled” in the house.

“It is quite difficult in there and I will be the first to put up my hands and say I wasn’t prepared for how it can be in there,” she said.

“I didn’t feel like I was getting close to anyone and I struggled with that. I’m used to being the outgoing one and being popular.

“I enjoyed it though,” she added, “and looking back it is what it is.”
