Big Brother winner Sam Evans plans to keep shop job

Sam Evans says he plans to go back to his department store job despite winning £100,000 on Big Brother.

Welshman Sam was crowned the winning housemate from this year’s series, but told The Sun he wasn’t planning to hand in his notice just yet.

The 23-year-old, who works in Carmarthen’s branch of Debenhams, said: “I will go back to work. A couple of shifts now and again, just so I’m keeping myself in a job.

“But I’d love to do some things with TV.”

The Welsh winner developed a close friendship in the house with fellow contestant Gina Rio, but said they were just friends for now.

He said: “She gave me a lot of time in the house. We had a good connection and she’s a very beautiful woman.

“I had to keep my distance as she has a boyfriend and I respect that.”

Celebrity Big Brother starts on August 22 with this year’s housemates including model Sophie Anderton, football commentator Ron Atkinson, Loose Women star Carol McGiffin and Five singer Abz Love.
