Craig Phillips, the winner of the first series of Big Brother, said the experience completely changed his life.
The Liverpudlian, who featured on a recent poll as one of the richest reality TV stars, said: “The show has changed my life dramatically, it’s been fantastic.”
He added: “It’s now nine years on for me and I have now been on about probably about 800 different DIY and building programmes and just actually wrote my autobiography as well which is coming out next month so quite excited about that.”
Craig, an avid BB fan, said that although the show’s format is always the same, the housemates change the dynamic of each series.
He said: “You can have different tasks, different challenges, poor houses, good houses, put walls in between them – but it’s the characters I think that change the programme, make it a completely different show to the one I was on.”
The 37-year-old was in the house with the infamous Nasty Nick, but said: “I think he’d be tame in this day and age now. I think if you put all of us into the house now it would be boring, it would be too tame.”
Big Brother 10 launches on Thursday June 4 at 9pm on Channel 4.
