Davina McCall has said she would consider presenting This Morning – but only if they offered her lots of money.
The Big Brother host had been rumoured to replace Fern Britton after the 51-year-old announced in March she is to leave the show later this year.
She told Heat magazine: “It’s an enormous commitment and probably not enough money for me to spend that much time away from my kids although the opportunity to work with the silver fox that is Pip Schofield is quite tempting.”
Davina added: “I’ve worked very hard so that I don’t have to work very hard.”
And she revealed why she wants to spend time with her children, saying: “It’s partly because of my upbringing but I feel really atrocious if I’m not with my children a couple of days a week – even if it’s just to do the school run in the morning.”
Davina also explained how she sought the advice from a marriage counsellor with her husband TV executive Matthew Robertson when they went through a blip: “We both knew we still loved each other, we’d just forgotten how to be civil and what mattered.
“We went for five sessions with a marriage counsellor – they were so intense, but it totally transformed our whole relationship and we’ve both said we’d do it again in a heartbeat if we needed to.
“And I know I’d be lost without Matthew.”
