Scott Mason, Ashleigh Hughes leave Big Brother

Scott Mason and Ashleigh Hughes have left the Big Brother house following the last public vote of the series before Monday’s final.

The pair – who had been the bookies’ favourites to exit – got the boot on Friday evening after losing out in the eviction vote to fellow nominees Deana Uppal and Adam Kelly.

Their departure means that Deana, Adam, Luke Scrase, Luke Anderson and Sara McLean will battle it out to be crowned series champion next week.

Scott – who had been nominated for eviction for the first time – was the first to leave on Friday, with the 20-year-old receiving a largely positive reaction from the crowd as he exited the house.

Afterwards he told Brian Dowling he had not expected to last so long, saying, “I was prepared for going out in the first week,” and added, “God knows why the public didn’t save me!”

Ashleigh, meanwhile, appeared peturbed to be greeted by a chorus of boos from the public.

The 20-year-old Essex girl, who had narrowly escaped elimination for the past two weeks, said during her eviction interview, “I’ve been myself throughout the competition,” also admitting that there was “definitely” love in the air between her and Luke Scrase.

“It’s not a showmance, it’s a romance,” she said. “I fancied Conor at the start, he is fit, but I see him like a brother. Luke just grew on me.”

Luke Anderson is now the favourite to win Monday’s final ahead of Deana, with Celebrity Big Brother due to begin next week two days after the current series ends.
